Resources — Module 01: Introduction to Your Vehicle

Resources listed here are specific to this module's content. For the full topic resource list (books, courses, communities), see ../RESOURCES.md.

Primary Resource

The single best thing to read/watch if you only have time for one resource.

Your Vehicle's Owner's Manual — Manufacturer

The owner's manual for your specific make, model, and year is the most valuable reference for Module 01 content. It shows your exact dashboard warning light meanings, fluid specifications, fluid check locations with photographs, and the recommended maintenance schedule. Nothing else is as directly applicable to your car. Find it in your glovebox or download a PDF from the manufacturer's website using your VIN.

Official Documentation

  • Your Vehicle Owner's Manual — Available in glovebox or manufacturer website (search "[make] [model] [year] owner's manual PDF")
  • NHTSA Recall Databasehttps://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls — Check for open safety recalls on your vehicle by VIN; free and highly recommended before Module 01 exercises
